Jewelry Repairs
We do ring
sizing and diamond resetting in house with our four full-time jewelers
and one part-time jeweler. If you prefer, we can make an appointment for
your reset or sizing job to be done while you wait. Other jewelry
repairs include everything from new clasps to knotted chains and
everything in between.
Pearls
We restring pearls and beads and can even match your present pearls if you need to add or replace some. Should you want a specialty pearl clasp in 18k gold or platinum set with diamonds, we have a large selection. Do you have an Add - A - Pearl necklace that needs additional pearls? We can supply the pearls and do the restringing. Would you like an invisible clasp for your pearls or several invisible clasps so that you can wear your pearls at different lengths? As well as ring sizing and other repairs we do antique restoration and with the addition of a new laser welding machine our repairs can be done much more efficiently and precisely.
Engraving
Machine and hand engraving services are available here at Jonathan's Jewelers. Machine engraving is the most time efficient and economical choice as we get most items back within a week's time. An artisan who is one of the best in his field beautifully does our hand engraving. Because of the labor involved, turnaround time for hand engraving is typically longer, usually within two weeks depending on the size and complexity of the piece(s).
Antique Restoration
We can take your treasured antique pieces and bring them back to like-new condition. With Jonathan’s love and knowledge of antiques he can determine what is needed. Platinum filigree restoration is one of our specialties. Broken stones can be re-cut, re-polished or if necessary, replaced and new stones can be cut to match older stones. Should you prefer to update the piece with the help of our design team, we can remove stones and create a new piece, all in house.
Appraisals
We can do appraisals for insurance and estate settlement purposes. Appraisals generally take a couple of days to complete if you leave the items with us. Leaving your jewelry with us for appraisal allows us to clean and closely inspect your items for any loose stones or repairs that may be needed. Should you prefer to take your pieces with you, we can set up an appointment and do all the necessary up front work so that your items may go home with you. Any prior paperwork you may have on the items will be helpful so that we can accurately appraise the item without removing the stones from their settings. We can also have stones certified for quality or authenticity.
Liquidation of Jewelry
If you have
jewelry that you no longer wish to keep, we can put in on consignment
and try to sell it for you. With some items, we may be willing to
purchase it outright. Items that are not in demand in New Hampshire can
be brokered to other vendors that we work with outside of the area.
Jonathan has the final decision on these types of items.
Watch Repairs
We can repair and
restore most watches including Rolex and antique timepieces. We have
several local watch repair people that we use (one is a retired Rolex
repair expert). Watches normally take 1-2 weeks depending on the nature
of the repair. Parts continually go out of production and sometimes it
can take 6-8 weeks to locate. We value your time and desire to have
items returned in a timely manner and ask your understanding and
patience. We go out of our way to find the necessary parts to bring your
timepiece back to working order.
Custom Work
You want a piece that is a one of a kind that says who you are. Custom designed jewelery, to your specifications, is our specialty! Our very talented design team will work with you from beginning to the final delivery. Work with Tom, Jon and Debbie to design the piece of your dreams. Once you approve of the drawing, we make a wax model that you can see and make changes to. Once the wax has been approved, we have the ability to cast your piece right in our own shop or we may send it to our expert casting vendor. Finishing the piece, which includes setting the gemstones and completion of the polishing process is done by our jewelers, on the premises. A selection of our custom pieces have been featured in New England jewelry competitions and we are proud to say we have won awards in this endeavor.

We have a large selection of in-stock, ready for purchase jewelry, from the traditional necklace chains and bracelets to designer pieces by award winners Karin Jacobson, T. Lee and Cornelis Hollander, James Breski, Guy LaRoche as well as our own custom pieces. We have a spectacular selection of Japanese Akoya cultured pearls, South Sea pearls in black, gold and pink, as well as opals from Lightning Ridge, Australia. We have jewelry for all needs and price ranges. We have a wonderful selection of colored gemstones as well as many diamonds in all shapes and sizes. Many of these diamonds are GIA or EGL certified. You choose the stone and the setting and we can have it ready for you in a matter of days or hours. We also have a nice selection of antique and estate pieces from Victorian, art nouveau, art deco and retro eras, as well as a variety of new and estate watches.
